Who can do this: Owners and Admins set up boards and settings. Members create jobs and work applicants. Bullhorn job board settings are for Owners only.
Where Settings is: click your profile picture at the bottom left of app.candidate.ly, then Settings. Your own notifications are under Your Account in the same menu.
The Job Board is your own careers site. You post jobs, take applications, and send applicants to Bullhorn. Below: how the parts fit together, then the setup steps in order.
How the pieces fit
You work in two places. app.candidate.ly is where your team handles settings, jobs and applicants. The public board is what candidates see, on jobs.candidate.ly or your own web address.
Talentbird's live board on its own address, jobs.talentbird.ai. Yours carries your name, colors and website header.
Job board: the public page your jobs are published on. You can have more than one, for example one per brand or region. Every job goes on exactly one board.
Job fields and job appearance: the fields each job has, and which of them candidates see.
Application form: what candidates fill in when they apply.
Applicant statuses: the stages you move applicants through, and the wording candidates see for each.
Bullhorn: jobs come in from your job orders, and applicants go back as submissions.
Candidate portal: where candidates sign in to track their applications on your board.
Your launch checklist
Have these ready:
Your logo (at least 64×64 px) and your brand color as a hex code.
The web address you want for the board, like careers.youragency.com, and someone who can add DNS records.
Your Bullhorn job order statuses for open and closed jobs, and the publishing status values that mean public.
The questions you want candidates to answer when they apply.
Each recruiter switches on their own new-application emails. An Owner can't do this for them.
Work through these steps in order, from setup to your first applicant. You can stop after any step and pick up where you left off.
Create and brand your board.
Choose your job fields and what candidates fill in.
Set your applicant statuses and the wording candidates see.
Connect Bullhorn: imports, push settings and the Job Board tab.
Post your first job and publish it.
Open the public board and apply to your own job, all the way through, the way a candidate would.
Switch on new-application emails for yourself (they start off), then find your test applicant in Candidately and in Bullhorn.
Add a Jobs or Careers link on your website that points to the public board. See Link to your job board from your website.
Optional: set up your own web address, your own email sending address, and an XML feed for job sites.
Good to know
Every board you add later follows the same setup.
Jobs from Bullhorn can arrive and go live on their own. See Connect Bullhorn to your Job Board.
