Add the Job Board tab to Bullhorn

Add a Job Board tab to your Bullhorn job orders, so recruiters can post a job to your board from the job order.

Who can do this: Owners and Admins can copy the address in Candidately. A Bullhorn admin adds the tab in Bullhorn. Each recruiter then switches it on for their own view.

Before you start: Bullhorn is connected to Candidately. See Connect Bullhorn to your Job Board.

With the tab in place, recruiters open a job order in Bullhorn and post it to your board from there. Setting it up has three parts: copy an address from Candidately, add it as a custom tab in Bullhorn, then switch the tab on.

Open Bullhorn settings

Step 1: Copy the address

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations > Bullhorn > Job Board settings.

  2. In the first row, Custom tab on Jobs, click copy.

Note: The address ends with an ID that belongs to your account. Copy it from your own settings. Don't retype it or reuse one from another company.

Step 2: Add the custom tab in Bullhorn

  1. Open the Menu at the top left, then Admin > View Layout.

  2. Leave Private Label as it is and set Field Map Entity to Job.

  3. Click the Custom Tabs tab.

  4. Scroll to the bottom and click Add New.

  5. Enter a Name, for example "Job Board".

  6. Tick Enabled.

  7. Paste the address into URL.

  8. Add the User Types who should see the tab, normally your admin and recruiter types.

  9. Click Save.

Note: Bullhorn's user type search matches from the start of the name, so type the first word of the user type. It doesn't clear after you pick one, so delete the leftover text before the next search.

Step 3: Switch the tab on

Saving in admin makes the tab available. Each recruiter still turns it on for their own view.

  1. Open any job order and click LAYOUT at the right end of the tab row.

  2. In the TABS panel, tick your new tab.

The tab now shows on every job order. If the job is already on your board, it opens that job. If it isn't, it opens a new job form filled in from Bullhorn.

Troubleshooting

The new tab isn't in the LAYOUT list

Bullhorn doesn't always show a newly saved tab in this panel straight away, and reloading doesn't reliably help. The tab is saved either way. If it hasn't appeared after a while, tell us in the chat rather than adding it again.

The tab doesn't show on job orders

Check the tab is Enabled and given to your user type, then tick it under LAYOUT > TABS on a job order. Logging out of Bullhorn and back in can help.

The tab says "We have lost connection to your Bullhorn account"

Check that the tab's URL in Bullhorn is the one from your own Custom tab on Jobs setting, not one copied from another account. Then click Reconnect Bullhorn.
