Who can do this: Owners and Admins. Your IT team adds the DNS records.
Before you start: pick a subdomain of your website, like careers.youragency.com or jobs.youragency.com.
Your board works on jobs.candidate.ly straight away. Most agencies move it to their own address so candidates stay on their brand. Talentbird's board runs on jobs.talentbird.ai. Your IT team needs a few minutes in your DNS settings, and we do the rest.
Set up your own address
Pick the address. Choose a subdomain of your website and tell us in the chat.
We send you two CNAME records. A CNAME record is a line in your domain's DNS settings that points one address to another. The first points your subdomain to Candidately. The second proves you own the domain.
Your IT team adds them. In your DNS provider, for example Cloudflare, GoDaddy or your hosting company, they add both records exactly as we sent them.
Tell us when they're in. We check the records and finish the setup, usually within 24 hours. The secure https certificate is created and renewed automatically.
Pick the domain on your board.
Go to Settings > Jobs > Job boards and open your board.
Under Domain, choose your new address.
Click Save changes.
You see Job board updated. Your board now opens at /jobs on your address, for example careers.youragency.com/jobs.
After the move
Point the Jobs or Careers link on your website to the new address. See Link to your job board from your website.
Use your website's own header and footer on the board, so candidates never feel they've left your site.
Add Tracking scripts from your analytics or job distribution provider. They only run on the board's own domain, so the field unlocks once your domain is picked.
Good to know
One domain can host one board.
Sending candidate emails from your own address is a separate setup. See Set up candidate emails for a job board.
Troubleshooting
My own domain isn't working yet
My own domain isn't working yet
Check that both CNAME records are in your DNS settings exactly as we sent them, then tell us in the chat. DNS changes can take a few hours to spread.
Still stuck? Send us a message in the chat with the address you picked and a screenshot of the two records in your DNS settings.
