Short answers to the questions new users ask most about Candidate Search AI.

Candidate Search AI searches only your own agency's candidates in Candidately: synced from Bullhorn, uploaded as resumes, or imported. It doesn't search external job boards like CV-Library, or other agencies' candidates. See What does Candidate Search AI search?

Candidate Search AI works in Candidately and connects to Bullhorn. If you use another ATS, you can upload or import candidates into Candidately and search them there, or ask us in the chat. See Does Candidate Search AI work with my ATS?

AI Search shows a lock when Candidate Search AI isn't on your plan. The search bar then only finds candidates by name or email. Click Get early access or send us a message in the chat. See Why is AI Search locked or not available?

You don't need Boolean in Candidate Search AI. Describe the role in a sentence in plain language. If you're used to Boolean, the filters do the same job: AND/OR become skill groups, NOT becomes Exclude skill, and a quoted phrase becomes a required skill or goes in the Ideal Candidate Brief.

The relevance score shows how strongly a candidate matches this specific Candidate Search AI search, compared to the other results. The score is relative: change the search and the scores change. It's a ranking aid, not a rating of the candidate. See How the relevance score works.

A strong candidate usually scores low in Candidate Search AI because one requirement isn't on the resume. Check the red crosses under the AI Summary: they show what's missing. Missing from the resume doesn't mean the candidate lacks it.

A candidate usually doesn't show up in Candidate Search AI because a filter removed them: a required skill, the experience range, the radius, or a Bullhorn filter. Untick the filter and run the search again. If the candidate was added or updated recently, wait a moment and search again. See Troubleshooting: a candidate I know exists doesn't show up.

With Bullhorn connected, your admin chooses which Bullhorn fields, including custom fields, you can use as Bullhorn filters in Candidate Search AI. Bullhorn filters narrow your results. See What does Candidate Search AI search?

Your search goes into the AI Search box on the Candidates page (left menu All candidates), not the support chat. The support chat can't run Candidate Search AI searches for you.

Candidate Search AI doesn't match jobs to a candidate. It finds candidates for a search or, with Bullhorn, for a Bullhorn job.

The Candidate Search AI settings are in Settings → Candidate search → General. Only Admins and Owners see this page.

There you set which Bullhorn fields can be used as filters and which show on the candidate profile, and the Job description used for AI Search for searches from a Bullhorn job. Each user can set a personal default under Your account → Search preferences. See Candidate search settings.

You can't export Candidate Search AI results as a CSV or Excel file, and there's no SMS or bulk email from search results. You can send candidates to a Bullhorn job with Submit to Bullhorn job or to a tearsheet with Add to Tearsheet. You can also add them to a Candidately list or shortlist.
