Before you start: This needs the Bullhorn integration and the Candidately tab or button. The Owner of your Candidately account sets it up in Settings → Integrations → Bullhorn, and a Bullhorn admin may need to add it in Bullhorn. Not using Bullhorn? Start your search in Candidately instead.
You don't need to leave Bullhorn or copy the job description. Candidately reads the job record and builds the search for you.
How do I search from the Candidately tab on a job?
Open the job record in Bullhorn.
Click the Candidately search tab, next to Overview, Edit, Activity and so on. Your Bullhorn admin names the tab when adding it, so ask them if you're unsure which one it is. If you don't see it, look under More.
Wait a few seconds. Candidately loads inside the tab, reads the job description, fills the filters and runs the search.
How do I use the top matches tab?
If your admin added the top matches tab, open it on the job record. It lists the best-matching candidates for the job with the columns Relevance, Candidate and ID. Click Apply Search to open the full search.
What does the Candidately AI Search button do?
If your admin added the Candidately AI Search button, you find it in the Bullhorn menu under Marketplace. It opens the All candidates page in Candidately, where you type your own search. It doesn't read a job.
What does Candidately read from the job?
The AI reads the job description and fills in the Filters sidebar, the same way it does for a search you type. Check the filters and change anything you need.
Candidately reads the job's Job Description, Published Description or Both descriptions. Your admin picks which one under Job description used for AI Search in Settings → Candidate search → General. If the description is too short, you see "Matched on the job title, location and skills only". Add a few requirements to the job for a better search.
You can re-run the search with a different description. This rebuilds all filters and takes about 20 seconds.
What can I do after the search runs?
Everything works exactly as in Candidately:
Filters on the left: adjust experience, tick or untick required skills, widen the radius, add Bullhorn filters. Click Apply Changes after editing filters.
Refine bar at the bottom: type "add Python", "remove Kubernetes", "only candidates who worked in banking".
Result cards: relevance score and AI Summary. Click View Profile for the full profile.
Select candidates, then Bulk actions: Submit to Bullhorn job, Add to Tearsheet, Add to Shortlist or Add to List.
What if the tab stays blank?
The embedded app needs a few seconds. If it stays blank, click the refresh icon on the job record (top right) and open the tab again. Still blank: see Troubleshooting: search is slow, stuck, or the Bullhorn tab is blank.
Pro tip: If you often see "Matched on the job title, location and skills only", ask your admin to check Job description used for AI Search under Settings → Candidate search → General. Picking the description your team fills in gives the AI more to work with.
