Do I need Boolean?
No. Describe the role in a sentence. If you are used to Boolean, translate it: AND/OR become skill groups, NOT becomes an excluded skill, a quoted phrase becomes a required skill or goes in the brief.
What does the score mean?
How well the candidate fits this specific search. It is relative: change the search and the scores change. It is not a rating of the candidate.
Why is a strong candidate scoring low?
Usually one requirement isn't on the resume. Hover the red evaluations to see what is missing. "Not confirmed" means the resume doesn't mention it, not that they lack it.
Why does a candidate I know is in Bullhorn not show up?
Most often a filter removed them: a required skill, the experience range, the radius, or a Bullhorn filter. Untick and re-run. If they were added or updated in the last few minutes, wait for live sync. See Troubleshooting: a candidate is missing from results.
Does it search notes and custom fields?
Yes. Parsed resume, skills, history, education, notes and custom fields are all indexed. See Which ATS data Candidate Search AI uses.
How current is the data?
Live sync picks up new and edited Bullhorn records within minutes. A brand-new resume upload takes a little longer because it has to be parsed.
Can I search by name, email or ID?
Yes. Fastest is the All candidates tab and its search bar. The AI Search bar also accepts names, but it is built for role descriptions.
Does typing into the bottom bar start a new search?
No. After the first search, the bar refines the current search. Only New Search starts over.
Why did all my skills become required when I switched to OR?
An OR list means "at least one of these must be present", which is a required condition by definition. Keep the list on AND with skills optional if you don't want a
strict filter.
Where do I set which Bullhorn fields show on the profile?
Your account admin configures this in Candidately. See the Admin guide.
Is hiding a candidate permanent?
No. Hide removes them from this search only.
Can I share a search?
Yes: Copy Search URL. Colleagues on the same account open the identical search.
Does submitting to a job from Candidately show up in Bullhorn?
Yes, immediately, on the job's Submissions tab with the status you picked.
Can I edit synonyms?
Not yet. Synonyms are generated automatically and are multilingual. If a synonym is wrong, tell support with the example.
