Does closing a job in Bullhorn archive the list?

Only if an Owner has set Job status mapping. Then closing or deleting the job pauses or archives its connected lists.

Written by Jan Alexander Jedlinski

Who can do this: Owners set it up in Settings → Integrations → Bullhorn. Admins and Members don't see this page.

Product: Client Portal

Where: Settings → Integrations → Bullhorn → Job status mapping

Only if your company has set it up. With Job status mapping, closing or deleting a job in Bullhorn sets every list connected to that job to Paused or Archived. Without it, the list stays as it is.

What happens when a job is closed in Bullhorn?

  • It only affects lists connected to that Bullhorn job. A connected list shows the Bullhorn icon ("Connected to job in Bullhorn").

  • It happens when the job is closed (no longer open) or deleted in Bullhorn.

  • Each connected list gets the status your Owner selected: List status: Paused or List status: Archived. This includes a marketing list connected to the job.

  • Your clients can no longer open the list. They see "The list you're trying to access is not available."

  • Nothing is deleted. Candidates, messages and activity stay on the list.

How do I set it up?

  1. Click your name at the bottom left, then Settings.

  2. Under Integrations, click Bullhorn.

  3. Scroll to Job status mapping.

  4. Select List status: Paused or List status: Archived.

  5. Click Save.

Result: from now on, when a connected job is closed in Bullhorn, its lists are paused or archived.

Should I choose Paused or Archived?

  • Paused: the list stays in your list panel. Click Set active to open it to your client again.

  • Archived: the list moves to Archived lists at the bottom of the list panel. When you restore it, it comes back as Paused.

What happens if the job is reopened in Bullhorn?

Nothing changes in Candidately. Reopening the job doesn't bring the list back. Do it yourself:

  1. Click Archived lists at the bottom of the list panel and click the restore icon next to the list. Skip this step if the list is paused.

  2. Open the list and click Set active.

Troubleshooting

The list didn't change when the job closed. Check that the list shows the Bullhorn icon, that a list status is saved under Job status mapping, and that your Bullhorn connection works. See How to reconnect Bullhorn or set up Auto reconnect.

Still stuck? Send us a message in the chat with the list name and the Bullhorn job ID.

Pro tip: Not sure yet? Choose List status: Archived. Archived lists leave your list panel but keep all candidates, messages and activity, and you can restore them at any time.
