Add, duplicate or delete a profile

A candidate can have several profiles, for example one per client or an anonymous version. Add a new one with Add profile, copy one with Duplicate profile, and pick the main one with the star.

Who it's for: Owners, Admins and Members.

Add a profile

  1. Open the candidate. Click Add profile.

Add profile menu with both options
  2. Choose one:

    • Create new profile by uploading file: pick a resume, and Candidately fills in the profile.

    • Create new profile manually: an empty editor opens. Enter a Profile name and the details, then click Create profile. The candidate's name isn't filled in for you.

Using Bullhorn? You also see Create new profile from Bullhorn file. See Import a candidate from Bullhorn.

Duplicate a profile

  1. Open the profile and click More > Duplicate profile. On the candidate's Profiles tab, you can also hover a row and click Duplicate.

More menu with Duplicate profile highlighted
  2. The copy opens, named "Copy: Profile 1". You see "Profile has been duplicated".

The copy has the same details, resume and photo as the original at that moment. It isn't the primary profile. A photo you add to one profile later doesn't appear on the other.

Credits: A copy counts as a new profile. Its first export uses 1 credit, even if the original was exported.

Rename a profile

  1. Open the profile and click Edit name next to the profile name.

  2. In Edit profile, change Profile name and click Update profile.

Edit profile panel with the Profile name field

You can also change Profile name at the top of the editor. The candidate's own name doesn't change.

Set the primary profile

  1. Open the profile you want as the main one.

  2. Click the star next to the profile name (Set as primary profile).

Star next to the profile name with the tooltip "Set as primary profile"

The primary profile shows a filled star.

Delete a profile

  1. Open the profile and click More > Delete profile. On the Profiles tab, you can also hover a row and click Delete.

  2. In Delete profile, click Yes, delete. Click Cancel to keep it.

Delete profile dialog with Cancel and Yes, delete

To delete the candidate instead, open the candidate and click More > Delete candidate.

Good to know

  • The Profiles tab lists each profile with Profile name, Created by, Last edited and Date created. Hover a row for Open, Edit, Duplicate and Delete.

  • If your company has reached its resume parsing limit, you can't upload or duplicate profiles for now. See Out of credits, or "You've reached your CV parsing limit".

  • Using Bullhorn? A setting can update the primary profile when a new resume is added in Bullhorn. An Owner sets this in Settings > Bullhorn.

Common questions

Why would a candidate need two profiles? To send different versions, for example a full and an anonymous one, or one shaped for a specific client.

How do I rename a profile? Click Edit name next to the profile name, or change Profile name in the editor.
