Who it's for: anyone who works on job submission lists.
Submission stages show where each candidate is in your client's hiring process, from To review to Declined. You and your client both see them, and both can change them.
The stages
Every job submission list has these fixed stages:
Stage | What it means | Who sets it |
To review | New candidate, the client hasn't acted yet | Starting stage. You or the client can move a candidate back here |
CV requested | The client asked for the full CV | Only the client, with Request CV |
CV revealed | You revealed the CV | Only you (the agency) |
Interview | The client wants to interview the candidate | The client with Request interview, or you |
Declined | The client turned the candidate down | The client with Decline, or you |
CV requested and CV revealed only appear when the list's access says CVs need to be requested. On other lists the client sees the CV straight away, so these two stages are hidden.
You can add your own stages, for example 2nd Interview, Offer or Hired. See Change the stages: company default and per list.
Where you see stages
On the list, candidates are grouped by stage, with a count next to each stage.
Each candidate card has a stage menu (Set to "To review", Set to "Interview" and so on).
Your client sees the same stages and counts on their side, and the same stage menu on each candidate.
Stage and status are different
Status (Draft, Ready, Active, Inactive, AE Rejected) is yours. It decides whether the client can see the candidate at all.
Stage is shared with the client. It shows where an active candidate is in their process.
Good to know
When you change a stage on a list shared with clients, Candidately asks whether to email them. See Move a candidate to another stage (and whether the client is emailed).
Stage changes, CV requests, interviews and declines show in the candidate's conversation in Messages, not in Activity.
With Bullhorn, Interview and Declined update the candidate's job submission status (for example Interview sets Interview Scheduled). The other stages, including the ones you add, don't change the Bullhorn status. See Map submission stages to Bullhorn statuses.
Stages only exist on job submission lists. Marketing lists work differently.
