Requesting a CV or interview, declining, setting stages (what your clients see)

Who it's for: recruiters who want to know what the client can do and what reaches them.

Clients give you feedback right on the candidate: they ask for the CV, request an interview, decline, or move the candidate to another stage. You see it straight away and get an email.

Request the CV

On lists where CVs need to be requested, the client sees a box "Request candidate's CV and more information" with Request CV, and the same button under the Messenger.

  1. The client clicks Request CV and confirms.

  2. They see "Candidate requested successfully". The candidate moves to CV requested.

  3. You get an email that the CV was requested. You decide when to reveal it.

When you reveal the CV, the candidate moves to CV revealed. Every client contact on the list gets an email and sees the CV, with Preview and Download in the conversation.

Request an interview

  1. The client clicks Request interview, or picks Interview in the stage menu.

  2. In Request interview they can add times under "Propose Interview times (optional)".

  3. They click Send interview request. The candidate moves to Interview.

  4. You get a Messenger email with the proposed times. Reply in the conversation or to the email.

Decline

  1. The client clicks Decline.

  2. They enter a reason under "Enter decline reason".

  3. They click Decline candidate. The candidate moves to Declined.

  4. You get an email: "Your candidate was declined. Decline reason: …".

Owners and Admins decide in Settings > General settings whether clients must give a decline reason.

Set a stage

Clients can move a candidate to any stage with the stage menu on the candidate, for example Set to "2nd Interview" or Set to "Hired". The candidate moves on your list too, and the change shows in the conversation.

They can't set CV revealed. That one is greyed out, because only you can reveal a CV.

Colleagues see each other

On a job submission list, all client contacts work together. Each one sees the others' CV requests, interview requests, declines and messages, and any CV you've revealed.

Good to know

  • Arranging the interview itself happens outside Candidately, by message, email or phone.

  • All of this shows in the candidate's conversation in Messages, not in Activity.

  • With Bullhorn, a client's Request interview or Decline updates the job submission status in Bullhorn, the same as when you do it. Other stages the client sets don't change Bullhorn.
