Who can do this: Owners and Admins.
Set once what every new job submission list starts with: who can open it, what clients can do on it and how candidates are added. You can still change each list on its own later.
Where to find it
Go to Settings > General settings and open the Job submission list tab.
These settings only apply to lists created after you change them. Existing lists keep their settings.
Settings and their defaults
"Default" is what a new Candidately account starts with. Your company may have changed it.
Setting | What it does | Default |
Default list access | Who can open new lists and when CVs show | Verification for CV access required |
Search bar on lists default behavior | Search box for clients | Show search bar |
Filter visibility default behavior | How filters show for clients | Collapsed (hidden) |
Default candidate upload status (for manually added candidates) | Status of candidates you add by hand. Draft means you activate each one; Active means clients see them straight away | Draft |
Allow clients to download candidate files by default? | Download button on CVs and files, or view only | Yes |
Candidate name search default behavior | Whether clients can search by candidate name | Yes, searchable |
Should decline reason be required? | Clients must give a reason when they decline a candidate | No |
Enable split-desk workflow | Adds a Ready step: a colleague reviews candidates before they go live | No |
Split-desk notification frequency and grouping | When colleagues get the Ready and AE Rejected emails: Notify instantly or Grouped notifications after the last change | Grouped, 15 minutes |
AE Rejected reason required/optional | Whether a reason is required when a colleague rejects a candidate | No, reason is optional |
Rename "AE Rejected" status | Your own word for the person who reviews, for example "Manager" | AE |
The split-desk settings only matter when split-desk is on. See Split-desk workflow: Ready and AE Rejected.
Candidate skills behavior and Skill experience information are on this tab too. They apply to job submission lists only: the Marketing lists and Candidate profiles tabs have their own copy. See Choose which skills are added from a CV.
Other defaults for new lists
New lists also pick up these, each set in its own place in Settings:
What | Where | Default |
Client emails: list updates and follow-ups | Settings > Client notifications | Clients subscribed to list updates & automated follow-ups. Email when a candidate is added or removed. First follow-up after 1 day if new candidates aren't viewed, then every 2 days, 3 more times |
Stages | Settings > Submission stages | To review, CV requested, CV revealed, Interview, Declined |
Branding and candidate appearance | Settings > Branding, Candidate appearance | Your company default, or your team's default if you're in a team |
Share email | Settings > Email templates | The template set as default |
AI recruiter note | Per list | AI-Generated Recruiter Notes on, notes previewed before saving |
Good to know
Need different settings on one list? Change them there. See Settings you can change on one list.
Changed a default and want it on existing lists? Change each list in List configuration. Defaults don't apply backwards.
CV requested and CV revealed only show on lists where CVs need to be requested.
