I can't export or download a resume

Most export problems come from running out of credits, a password-protected attachment or a lost Bullhorn connection. Find the message you see below and follow the fix.

Who it's for: Owners, Admins and Members. Everyone in your company can export.

"You've used all your credits"

Your company has no credits left for new exports. Click Talk to sales in the message to open the chat, and tell us how many credits you need. Profiles you exported before and haven't changed since still export for free. See Out of credits, or "You've reached your CV parsing limit".

"Upgrade your Plan"

Your plan doesn't include Resume Builder exports. Click Talk to sales, or ask us in the chat.

"The PDF is encrypted, please upload an unencrypted PDF"

A document you attached under Attach documents to the export is password-protected. Remove the password, or attach a different file.

"Send to Bullhorn - Connection failed"

Your Bullhorn connection was lost. You can still download the resume. An Owner can reconnect in Settings > Bullhorn. See Save a resume to Bullhorn.

The preview keeps loading, or nothing downloads

Close the export screen and open it again. If it still doesn't work:

  1. Remove any documents you attached and try again.

  2. Try Download DOC instead of Download PDF, or the other way round.

  3. Still stuck? Send us a message in the chat with the candidate's name and the branding you picked.

Good to know

  • On a trial, the export screen shows how many credits you have left, for example "You have 9/10 credits remaining", and Need more credits? Talk to sales.

Export footer: credits remaining and Talk to sales
  • The preview is free. A credit is used when you click Download PDF or Download DOCX, click Send to Bullhorn or publish a share link. Each profile uses 1 credit the first time, and again only after it's edited.

Still stuck?

Send us a message in the chat with the candidate's name, the format (PDF or Word) and a screenshot of what you see.
