Owners and Admins invite, change and remove users in Settings > Users.

Who can do this: Owners and Admins. Only Owners can invite, change or remove another Owner.

Product: All products

Where: Settings > Users

How do I invite a user?

  1. Click your name at the bottom left, then Settings > Users. Click Invite user at the top right.

  3. If your company uses teams, choose a Primary team. Its settings are used when this user creates new lists.

  4. Click Invite user.

Result: you see "Invitation was sent successfully". The user gets an email to finish signing up, and shows as Pending Invite until they do.

How do I remove a user?

  1. In Settings > Users, click Remove on the user's row.

  2. If the user owns lists, candidates or contacts, choose who takes them over. Click Select user under each section.

  3. Click Remove user.

Result: you see "User was removed successfully". Submitted candidates and messages stay visible to the rest of your company. Reassigning can take a while on large accounts, so keep the window open until it finishes.

You can't remove yourself. Admins can't remove an Owner.

How do I change a user's permission level?

  1. In Settings > Users, click the user's current permission level.

  2. Select the new level.

Result: you see "User was updated successfully". You can't change your own permission level. Admins can't change an Owner.

What can each permission level do?

  • Owner: everything, including Subscriptions and the Bullhorn connection. Can invite other Owners.

  • Admin: company settings and users, except Owners. Can open Subscriptions but can't change the plan or billing, and can't manage the Bullhorn connection.

  • Member: works with candidates and lists. Can't manage company settings or users.

Troubleshooting

  • "There is already a user with this email" or "Email address is already associated with a membership": this person already has a login. Check the list, or ask us in the chat.

  • "This user is already part of another company": the email is used in another Candidately company account. Send us the email address in the chat.

  • "User cannot be added as your payment failed": an Owner needs to update the payment card. See Update your billing address or payment card.

Pro tip: If someone didn't get their invite, click Resend invite on their row in Settings > Users. Ask them to check their spam folder too.
