How Candidately keeps your data secure

Where Candidately is hosted, how your data is protected, and how to keep your own account secure.

Written by Jan Alexander Jedlinski

Candidately runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Data travels over encrypted connections, access is limited by permission level, and every user can protect their login with two-factor authentication.

Where is my data hosted?

Candidately and its data are hosted on AWS. Our live environment is kept separate from our development and test environments.

How is my data protected?

  • Data sent between Candidately and its database travels over encrypted connections.

  • Each user sees only what their permission level allows. Owners and Admins manage users in Settings > Users.

  • Users can only open data that belongs to their own company.

What can I do to keep my account secure?

  • Turn on two-factor authentication: your name at the bottom left > Your Account > 2-Factor Authentication. You need an authenticator app.

  • Give each person their own login and the lowest permission level they need.

  • Remove users who leave your company. See Invite, change and remove users.

I need answers for a security review

Send us your security questionnaire in the chat or to [email protected]. Tell us your deadline and who in your company we should reply to.

Pro tip: When you set up two-factor authentication, save your backup codes somewhere safe. You need them to log in if you lose your phone.
