Choose what clients see on candidate profiles (candidate appearance)

A candidate appearance is a template that decides which sections and fields clients see on a candidate profile, and you pick one per job submission list.

Who can do this: Owners and Admins create and edit candidate appearances. Anyone who can open a list can pick one for it.

A candidate appearance is a template that decides which sections and fields clients see on a candidate profile, and you pick one per job submission list.

Pick the appearance for a list

When you create the list, choose it under Candidate appearance. The field is required and starts with your default.

To change it later:

  1. Open the list and click List configuration > General.

  2. Under Candidate appearance, choose a configuration, for example Full Profile or Anonymized Profile.

The change applies to this list only.

Create or edit an appearance

  1. Open the user menu (your name, bottom left) and click Settings.

  2. Under Candidate settings, click Candidate appearance.

  3. Click Edit on the appearance you want to change. Or click Duplicate to start from a copy, or Create new candidate appearance.

  4. On the Candidate profile tab, click a section on the right to select it. Tick a field in the list on the left to add it. Use Search fields… to find a field.

  5. To remove a field or section, click its X. To move one, drag it by its handle. To add a section, click Add section. To rename one, select it and change Section name. Turn on full-width to let a field use the whole row.

  6. Make the same field changes on the Candidate form tab, so you can fill the field in.

  7. Click Save.

The five tabs

  • Candidate profile: the full profile your client opens on the list.

  • Candidate form: the fields you fill in when you add or edit a candidate. A field must be here to be editable.

  • Candidate card (desktop) and Candidate card (mobile): what shows on the candidate cards in the list.

  • Candidate data control (in the editor only): which candidate data is visible by default, like the candidate's name, Original CV / Resume, phone, email, location, employer names and schools. See below.

The tabs are separate. To show a new field to clients and fill it in, add it to both Candidate profile and Candidate form.

Use more than one appearance

  • Make one appearance per use, for example a full profile and an anonymized one, and pick the right one per list.

  • One appearance is the company default. It shows Already set as default and you can't delete it. To change it, select another and click Set as company default.

  • Teams can have their own default appearance. New lists start with the default of your primary team, or the company default.

Hide details for one list or one candidate

The appearance decides which fields show. Candidate data control decides whether the data in them is visible, for example the full name or only initials, or employer names hidden.

You find it in three places:

  • In the appearance editor, on the Candidate data control tab.

  • On a list: List configuration > Candidate data control. You can apply a change to all candidates already on the list or only to new ones.

  • On one candidate: Edit > Control candidate data.
