Hide or anonymize candidate data

Choose what clients see about your candidates: their name, CV, phone, email and location. Set it for the whole list, then change it for single candidates if you need to.

Who can do this: Owners and Admins on any list. Members on lists they own or are assigned to.

Choose what clients see about your candidates: their name, CV, phone, email and location. Set it for the whole list, then change it for single candidates if you need to.

Set it for the whole list

  1. Open the list and click List configuration > Candidate data control.

  2. Under Candidate name, choose the Primary name clients see: First name only, First name + Last name initials, Full name, Job title, Initials only, or Bullhorn ID if Bullhorn is connected. Turn Secondary name on if you want a second line under it. The preview shows the result, for example "Tony Stark / Java Developer".

  3. Under General info, turn these on or off: Original CV / Resume, Phone, Email, Candidate location. Under Work Experience, Education and Certificates you can also hide details such as Employer name or Institution / School.

  4. Save. Then choose Apply to all existing candidates on this list or Apply to newly added candidates only.

Change it for one candidate

  2. Click Control candidate data at the top.

  3. Change the settings. They save as you go, and the preview updates.

What happens next

Clients see the profiles with the hidden details removed. You and your colleagues still see everything.

Good to know

  • The original CV usually has the candidate's name and contact details in it. Turn Original CV / Resume off if the profile should be anonymous.

  • The settings for one candidate override the list settings for that candidate. If you later apply list settings to all existing candidates, set the single candidate again.

  • On lists where CVs need to be requested, the full CV only shows after you reveal it. See List access and CV visibility.

  • Which fields show at all (for example skills or recruiter note) comes from the list's Candidate appearance.
