Some details are wrong or missing
Parsing gets most fields right, but layouts with columns, tables or text in images can confuse it. Dates, job titles and years of experience are worth a quick check.
Fix by hand: open the profile, click Edit, change the details, then click Update profile. The toggle next to Preview style in the editor shows the original resume, so you can compare.
Use a cleaner file: click More > Replace candidate's CV/Resume, click Select file and pick a simple PDF or DOC file (up to 25 MB). Then pick Overwrite all fields.
The profile is blank or almost empty
The file has little text Candidately can read.
A scanned resume or a photo: these are read with text recognition. Scanned PDFs longer than 25 pages aren't. Upload a shorter file, or a PDF with real text.
A file with very little text: if the file has fewer than about 50 characters of text, parsing stops. Check you picked the right file.
Then replace the resume: More > Replace candidate's CV/Resume > Overwrite all fields.
A "CV/Resume parsing errors" warning
The warning says "The candidate is visible on your list, but does not appear in search results." The candidate is saved, but the details weren't read from the file. Replace the resume with a readable PDF or Word file.
The panel closed without a check mark or warning
When a file is read, the Parsing resumes panel shows a check mark and the candidate's name, then closes on its own. Sometimes a file can't be read and the panel closes after a few minutes without telling you. Open All candidates. If the candidate is there with an empty profile, replace the resume.
Skills are missing
Your company may have skills switched off. An Owner or Admin can check Settings > General settings > Candidate skills behavior. See Choose which skills are added from a resume.
"You've reached your CV parsing limit"
Your company has used its parsing allowance for the last 30 days. Creating, duplicating and replacing resumes all count. Ask us in the chat and we'll help.
Good to know
Parsing doesn't use credits. Credits are only used when you export.
The choices when you replace a resume: Overwrite all fields, Update only empty fields, or Do not update (replaces the file, keeps the details).
Replacing a resume reads the new file again, so it counts toward the parsing limit.
Still stuck?
Send us a message in the chat with the candidate's name and the resume file.
