Opening a list and logging in (what your clients see)

Your clients don't need a password or an account. They open the list from your email and are logged in straight away.

Who it's for: recruiters who share job submission lists and want to explain to a client how to get in.

Your clients don't need a password or an account. They open the list from your email and are logged in straight away.

From the share email

  1. Your client opens the email you sent and clicks View Candidates (or the link in your message).

  2. The link logs them in. No password needed.

  3. The first time, they may see Is this you? with their email address. They click Yes, this is me. If it's not their address, they click No, this is not me, or Proceed to list without email confirmation to just view the list.

  4. A short welcome tour shows them around. They can click Next or Snooze it.

Without the email

If a client opens the list from a plain link and isn't logged in, they see a banner ("Your shortlist from [your company]. Review, comment and request interviews.") and a Confirm your email box. They enter their email address and click Submit. Candidately emails them a login link, valid for 30 minutes.

On lists set to Only invited people can access the list, only the people you shared it with can log in.

All their lists in one place

At the top of the list, All Lists shows every list you've shared with that client, with their messages. Clients can also go straight to your client portal and log in with their email. You find its address in Settings > Client portal (Client portal URL), on our domain or your own. See Add a client login to your website.

Good to know

  • If a link no longer works, the client sees "Your link has expired." and clicks Send new link. They get an email "Your login link" with a Log me in button, then confirm with Yes, this is me.

  • On a list where only invited people have access, someone who isn't logged in sees "Please enter your email address to access the candidates." and has to use an email address you shared the list with.

  • A client who is already logged in and opens a colleague's link stays logged in as themselves. To open the list as someone else, they need to log out first. Tell clients not to forward their own emails; they can use Forward list instead.

  • Each client contact logs in with their own email address. Clients never see your Candidately account.

Short intro you can send to a client before the first list

Hi [name],

We'll send you our candidates for [job] through our client portal. You'll get an email with a link. Click it and you're in, no password needed. You can look at each candidate, ask for the CV, request an interview or decline, and message us right on the candidate. Your colleagues on the list see the same.

Best regards,
[your name]
