Add a client login to your website

Give your clients one page with every list you've shared with them. Put the link on your website, for example as a "Client login" button.

Who can do this: Owners and Admins.

Give your clients one page with every list you've shared with them. Put the link on your website, for example as a "Client login" button.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings > List settings > Client portal.

  2. Find the portal you want to use. You have one for the Candidately address (my.candidate.ly/cp/…) and one for each custom domain you've set up.

  3. Choose the Theme. It sets the branding clients see on the portal.

  4. Copy the Client portal URL, or open it to check it.

  5. Add the link to your website, for example on a "Client login" button in the menu. Or send it to your clients.

Settings > Client portal with the Client portal URL, copy and open buttons and Theme

What your clients see

  1. The client opens the link and enters their email.

  2. They get an email with a login link. No password.

  3. Under All Lists they see every list you've shared with them. Under Messages they find their conversations with you.

Good to know

  • Use a portal on your own domain, like candidates.youragency.com, so the login looks like part of your website. Setting up the domain is a separate step: see Use your own web address for the client portal.

  • The login link from the login page works for 30 minutes. If it has expired, the client can ask for a new one.

  • Clients only see lists you've shared with them.

  • There's no code to embed the portal inside a page on your website. Link to it instead.
