Who can do this: Owners and Admins on any list. Members on lists they own or are assigned to.
Product: Client Portal
Where: Client at the top of the list panel, and Share your list → People with access on the list
When you group your lists by Client, each list shows under the client company of the contacts you shared it with. A list that isn't shared with a client contact yet shows under Lists without clients.
How does Candidately decide which client a list belongs to?
There's no client field when you create a list. The client comes from the people you share the list with.
Click Client at the top of the list panel to group your lists by client. Name and Status group them differently.
A list shows under the company of each client contact it is shared with. Shared with contacts from two companies, it shows under both.
A list you haven't shared with any client contact shows under Lists without clients.
When someone opens your list from a shared link, Candidately files them under the client company that matches their email domain. If no company has that domain, it creates a new company named after the domain, for example clientcompany.com.
The list is shared with the wrong person. How do I fix it?
Open the list and click Share your list.
Under People with access, click ⋮ next to the wrong contact.
Click Remove recipient from list, then Remove person.
Share the list with the right contact. See Share a list with a client.
The contact is under the wrong company. How do I fix it?
Open the list and click Share your list.
Under People with access, click ⋮ next to the contact, then Edit contact.
Under Company, select the right company, or add it as a new company.
Click Update.
The list is under "Lists without clients". How do I fix it?
Share the list with a client contact. It then moves under that contact's company. See Share a list with a client.
A company named after an email domain appeared. What do I do?
It was created when someone opened your list from a link. Rename it on End clients: open the company and click Edit name.
Result: in the Client view, the list shows under the right company. The client name in the list header updates too.
Troubleshooting
The list still shows under the wrong client. Check People with access for other contacts from that company: the list shows under every company it is shared with.
Still stuck? Send us a message in the chat with the list name.
Pro tip: Add each client's web domains on End clients with Add domains. People who open your list from a link are then filed under that company instead of a new one.
