The candidate experience

What candidates see when they browse, apply, and track their application.

Written by Gustavo Teran

Candidates move through three stages: browsing the public board, applying to a role, and tracking their application afterward. This article walks through what they see at each step.

Browsing the board

Candidates see your logo, banner, and colors from the Theme editor, plus:

  • Filters for location (with a radius slider), category, work mode, and employment type

  • A search bar and a sort option (Newest by default)

  • Job cards with a Featured badge for jobs you've pinned to the top

The job page and applying

Each job has its own page with the full description, an Apply now button, a bookmark icon, and an Ask AI button candidates can use to ask questions about the role. Compensation shows in a sidebar card if you've filled it in.

On the apply form, candidates:

  • Choose to upload a resume or link their LinkedIn profile

  • Fill in the required "Your details" fields — first name, last name, email

  • Answer any additional questions from that board's application form preset

  • Accept the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use (and a data-processing consent checkbox) before submitting

Tracking the application

After submitting, candidates land on a confirmation page and receive a confirmation email. From there they can sign in to a My applications portal (a magic link, no password needed) to see every job they've applied to across your boards, along with the status label you've set for that stage.

🎉 You're all set! You now know exactly what candidates experience from browsing your board to tracking their application.
