Bullhorn filters: filter AI results by any Bullhorn field

Add hard filters on Status, Owner, custom fields or any other Bullhorn candidate field on top of your AI search.

Written by Jan Alexander Jedlinski

The AI finds the best matches by meaning. Bullhorn filters make sure every result also meets your hard facts: status, owner, source, a custom field, anything on the Bullhorn candidate record.

You find them at the bottom of the filter panel, under Bullhorn filters. Active filters show as chips.

How to add a filter

1. Click Add Filter and start typing the field name, for example "Status" or "Owner". Pick the field from the list. Every candidate field in your Bullhorn is there, including custom fields. Fields marked "Field is Not Searchable" can't be used.

2. Pick a condition: is, is not, includes any, does not include any, is unknown, has any value.

3. Pick the value(s). For Status you will see your own Bullhorn statuses (New Lead, Active, Placed, DNU, Archive and so on). For text fields, type the value.

4. Click Done, then Apply Changes at the bottom of the panel. Filter edits only run once you apply them.

The filter shows as a chip ("Status is Active"). Remove it with the x.

Examples

  • Status is Active — only candidates you can work with right now

  • Status is not DNU — keep do-not-use out of every search

  • Owner is me — only my candidates

  • Source includes any: Referral, LinkedIn

  • Onboarding Status has any value — only candidates who have started onboarding

  • A custom field, for example Security Clearance is Active

Groups

Add Group under Bullhorn filters lets you combine conditions with their own AND/OR, for example (Status is Active OR Status is New Lead) AND Owner is me.

Things to know

  • Bullhorn filters cut the list. They don't change how the remaining candidates are ranked.

  • Edits only take effect after Apply Changes.

  • A filter on a field that is empty for most candidates removes most candidates. Use "has any value" or "is unknown" to check how a field is populated.

  • Values come live from your Bullhorn setup, so what you see matches your account.
